RDE Presentation Demonstrates Advantages of Waterborne Refinish Technology

Session includes Q&A with renowned custom refinisher Charley Hutton

Collision Repairers attend industry events such as the 2013 SEMA Show to learn about the latest and greatest technology, and more importantly, how to implement that technology into their business. The use of water-based refinish coatings is certainly not new technology being premiered in the industry, but this session will open the eyes of repairers who may have been reluctant to transition to the technology in the past.

On Thursday, November 1st, at 3:00pm, the Society of Collision Repair Specialists’ (SCRS) Repairer Driven Education (RDE) series will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about the latest water based refinish technology that is having an impact in both the collision repair and custom markets, during RD15 Waterborne Refinish Coatings: What Are You Waiting For?  The two hour session, led by product experts Tim Jones, Dr. Gareth Hughes and John Parran with PPG Automotive Refinish, will demonstrate the capabilities and the unique advantages of water technology in today’s demanding markets in addition to a historical overview of the evolution of the product, and status reports on North American legislation that will impact how you do business in the future.

In addition to information contained in the presentation, attendees are in store for an informative and interactive Question & Answer session with the presenters, accompanied by industry expert Charley Hutton, Painter & Owner of Charley Hutton’s Color Studio. Having made the conversion to water based refinish products, being recognized with two Ridler Awards, the winner of several Street Rod of the Year and Custom Rod of the Year awards, as well as being the recipient of America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award, Charley brings a wealth of experience to the table as a celebrated refinish icon.

Hutton established himself as a personality in the refinish world, first with national exposure through the Discovery Channel’s “American Hot Rod” show, and with appearances on Hot Rod TV and the Learning Channel’s, “Overhaulin’.”
